A Software company is looking for a Group Financial Controller (m/f/d) to join its new SSC, in Lisbon.
Your new role
The Group Financial Controller will report to the Deputy Group Finance Director and have people directly reporting to them with a wider team of Financial Controllers and General Ledger Accountants. You will be responsible for:
- Lead and co-ordinate the day-to-day operations of the finance team
- Month-end close activities and reporting
- Completion and filing of the annual financial statements for the legal entities including liaising with local auditors and co-ordination the audit process (across different countries)
- Support with the Annual Group Audit
- Analysing financial data including control of balance sheet accounts
- Managing financial transactions including approval of payments
- Streamlining accounting functions and operations
- Evaluating and managing risk including improvements in internal controls
- System improvements including automation of activities where appropriate
- Involved in M&A activities like Due diligence and integrations
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate should have:
- 5+ years of experience within Financial Control domain from a multinational organisation
- Masters degree in Finance / Accounting or any equivalent study
- Experience in team management
- Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals
- Auditing experience
- Compliance oriented
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Familiar with working in a shared service environment, preferably in an outsourcing context
- Analytical skills
- Good communication skills (English required)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
