Your new RoleThe Fund Accounting Manager, will encompass all facets of the production and delivery, people and financial management oversight for Arendt's portfolio of Private Equity (PE) and Real Estate (RE) clients.
This is a challenging and rewarding role which provides exposure to all elements of a PERE Fund’s Accounting processes and life cycle. Working with other members of the team and supervising them and having cross border collaboration with the team in Luxembourg ensuring proper hand-offs for seamless delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:- Lead Accountants to manage processes and activities that deliver expected outcomes for the team and the Fund Administrative Services (FAS) Department;
- Accountable for ensuring all work is completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with procedures;
- Drive the team to identify and implement continuous improvements, while contributing to strengthening the control environment;
- Make decisions on process and system issues, applying deep technical expertise to guide teams and escalate matters when needed;
- Coach and develop the team to meet or exceed performance expectations;
- Manage the team’s assigned budget within established guidelines;
- Support Senior Leadership in driving key talent‑development initiatives;
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, using metrics and exception reporting to enhance productivity and output quality within the FAS Department;
- Prioritize work according to strategic goals;
- Communicate business and financial context, decisions, and priorities clearly to the team;
- Proactively adjust financial plans and business objectives in response to changes in the business or economic environment, ensuring goals are achieved within financial targets;
- Actively participate in the recruitment process for dedicated teams and ensure effective onboarding of new team members;
- Manage communication with appropriate stakeholders;
- Analyze current and projected workloads to determine staffing needs required to meet service objectives;
- Evaluate risk events and implement corrective actions to control gaps.
Important Note: Occasionally will be required to travel to Luxembourg and host on-site visit of your colleagues.
What you will need to be succeed:- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related subject (mandatory);
- Master’s Degree in the field (would be a plus);
- Certifications in CPA, CIMA, CA or ACCA (would be a plus);
- +4 years of Management experience (either through direct leadership of employees or by holding a senior-level role);
- Experience in Accounting for Private Equity or Real Estate funds (would be a plus);
- Experience in Transfer Agency activities (including equalization, capital calls/distributions, investor register management and transfers) (would be a plus);
- Technical expertise to apply functional and process knowledge to diverse issues;
- Business management knowledge (with the ability to implement processes, products or services);
- Solid understanding of Accounting standards (such as IFRS, LUXGAAP, USGAAP, etc.);
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Alternative Funds (including RAIF structures);
- Familiarity with AIFM regulations (would be a plus);
- Proficiency in MS Office (strong knowledge of Excel);
- Alignment with Arendt’s Pillars of Care, Social, Excellence, and Entrepreneurship;
- Good communication skills – Fluency in English (written and spoken) (mandatory).
