Your new company
We are seeking a qualified Senior Financial Controller to assume a key role in our investment management firm. As a critical partner to the CFO, you will be responsible for managing financial operations of the investment firm and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, playing a vital role in the strategic financial direction of the organisation.
Your new role
1. Financial Planning and Analysis
- Develop and execute financial planning of the firm, in alignment with the firm's long-term goals.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to inform decisionmaking processes.
- Present detailed reports and recommendations to senior management for strategic planning.
2. Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Oversee the accurate preparation of financial statements of the firm and funds in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate timely and accurate completion of audits.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting obligations.
3. Reporting to Investors, Regulatory Agencies, and Internally:
- Prepare and present financial reports for investors, ensuring transparency and providing insights into financial performance.
- Interface with regulatory agencies, ensuring all financial activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Develop and maintain internal reporting mechanisms to keep various departments informed about financial performance and key metrics.
4. Risk Management:
- Identify and assess financial risks, proposing and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
5. Cash Flow Management:
- Manage and optimise cash flow by closely monitoring receivables, payables, and liquidity.
- Develop strategies to maximise working capital efficiency and minimise financial risks.
6. Technology and Systems:
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies relevant to financial management.
7. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Effectively communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Collaborate with executives, department heads, and external partners to align financial strategies with overall business objectives.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA designation is highly desirable;
- 3 to 5 years of auditing experience in a Big Four accounting firm; or
- 3 to 5 years previous experience in a senior financial role within the investment management sector preferred;
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and investment strategies;
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to various stakeholders
- Proficiency in financial modelling, analysis tools, and ERP systems;
- Strategic thinker with the ability to drive financial initiatives aligned with organisational goals;
- Fluency in English is a mandatory requirement;
